Mama’s Chili

You guys are in for a real treat this time! It will truly make your mouth water! This is one recipe that my mom made up and its just a healthy and extra tasty meal that’s easy to put in the crock pot the morning of (or night before if you are at work all day the next day), and its ready for dinner!

Ingredients:

1 lb Beef (or ground Turkey), Browned and Drained
1 Onion, Chopped
1 Green Pepper, Chopped
2 (16oz) Stewed Tomatoes
1 (16oz) Diced Tomatoes
2 (16oz) Tomato Sauce
1 Can Red Beans, Rinsed Well
1 Can Light Kidney Beans, Rinsed Well
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Pepper
1 ½ to 2 TBSP of Chili Powder (to taste)

Directions:

Brown the meat and drain off the fat. Add the onions and green pepper to the meat and saute them all for about 3-5 minutes (doesnt need to be soft because the crock pot will do that part for you). Dump all of it, along with the other ingredients above, into the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours! We like to top it with a little sour cream and cheese, but everyone is different so top it with your favorite chili topping!
